The Centre women's soccer team stayed undefeated on the year, capturing a 2-1 win over Hanover on Saturday in Hanover, Ind.
The Colonels got the scoring started in the 25th minute when Mary Taylor Kersey (Winchester, Ky.) scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season off an throw in by Amy Hebbeler (Fort Wright, Ky.). Just two minutes later, Tricia Walsh put in a loose ball in the box to tie the score for Hanover, but Hebbeler was able to answer with 10 minutes remaining in the half with what would go on to be the game winner.
Overall, Centre outshot Hanover 10-4 and took four corners to the Panthers' one. Megan Foley (Louisville, Ky.) and Holly Hilton (New Palestine, Ind.) split time in goal for Centre while Bethann Hancock made four saves for Hanover.
Centre improves to 5-0 on the season and hands Hanover its first loss, dropping the Panthers to 4-1. The Colonels return to action with a trip to Transylvania on Wednesday.
