Women's soccer defeats Rose Hulman 2-1 on last minute goal

The Centre women's soccer team picked up its second road win of the weekend with a 2-1 victory at Rose Hulman on Sunday in Terre Haute, Ind.

Though Centre was able to spend the majority of the game on the attack, taking 25 shots to Rose Hulman's two, it wasn't until the final minute of regulation when the Colonels' Mary Taylor Kersey (Winchester, Ky.) scored the winning goal.

Until that point the game had been deadlocked at 1-1 most of the way. Centre freshman Alex Combs opened the scoring in the 27th minute by scoring a goal in her third straight game. Just eight minutes later though, Katie DeMoss scored for Rose Hulman on one of the two shots the team took for the game.

Centre's Megan Foley (Louisville, Ky.) made one save in goal while Rose Hulman's Lucinda Combs had 18 stops. Centre also held a 10-1 edge in corners.

Centre continues a stretch of six straight road games with a trip to Hanover on Saturday.
