Bachert selected as Academic All-American

Centre's Emily Bachert was selected to the Capital One Academic All-America Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Bachert, a senior golfer from Bowling Green, Ky., was named to the second team after finishing a successful career both on the golf course and in the classroom. A biochemistry and molecular biology major who posted a 3.53 GPA, Bachert finished the season as the national runner-up at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships for the second consecutive year.

Bachert also won five tournaments over the year, including the SCAC Championship. She was selected as SCAC Player of the Year and as a first team All-American.
