Colonels take second in Rhodes Tri Match
Junior Emily Bachert (Bowling Green, Ky.) finished the day with a 81, as she shot a 42 and a 39. Freshman Allison Hancock (Paris, Ky.) tied for third place after she shot a 87.
Sophomores Whitney Miller (Lexington, Ky.) and Lauren Mashburn (Madisonville, Ky.) tied for sixth place after they both completed the round of play with a 89.
Senior Paige Burton (Frankfort, Ky.) tied for 11th place after she recorded a 96 and freshman Catherine Parks (Salisbury, N.C.) rounded out the group for Centre with a 13th place finish and a score of 98.
Stephanie Mingos from Rhodes College was the medalist for the event after she shot a 78.
"The team is disappointed that they were unable to win the event. The weather conditions definitely played a role in how our ladies performed today, but at the same time you have to give credit to Rhodes for coming out and pulling off the win," said Centre Director of Golf, Brian Chafin.
The Colonels will next compete in the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate on Friday, March 18 through Sunday, March 20 at Indian Mound Golf Course in Jekyll Island, Ga. Oglethorpe University will be hosting the event.
