Kieffer earns second Runner of the Week selection

The 2011 Men's Cross Country season is two weeks in the books, and Centre sophomore John Kieffer has racked up another honor from the SCAC. For the second straight week, Kieffer has won the conference's Runner of the Week award for meets run through September 10.

The Dublin, Ohio native led the way for the Colonels at Saturday's Centre Invitational, finishing the 8k course in 26:42, 18 seconds ahead of the second place finisher and the fastest time for a Centre runner on the home course since 2005. Kieffer finished first out of 55 participants in the race.

The brilliant run by Kieffer helped Centre finish the meet with 30 points, giving them a two-point victory over second place Berea.

Centre's next cross country meet will take place on September 24, at the Otterbein Invitational in Westerville, Ohio.
