Hernandez named SCAC Track & Field Athlete of the Week

Cesar Hernandez of the Centre men's track and field team has been named the SCAC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week for meets run through March 17.

Hernandez, a sophomore from Chelsea, Mass., placed in the top 50 in Division III in two events. His long jump of 21-05.50 was good enough for 10th place at Saturday's Rhodes Open Meet, a feat made all the more impressive due to the level of Division I competition at the meet. That distance also ranks him 10th in all of Division III as of March 19.

In addition to the long jump, Hernandez was also part of the men's 4x400 relay that finished 12th at Rhodes and placed 41st in Division III.

The next meet for the Centre men's track and field team will be on March 31 at the Hanover Invitational.
