The Centre men's soccer team bounced back from a loss a day earlier with a 2-0 victory over College of Wooster on Saturday in Wooster, Ohio.
Centre got the victory behind two first half goals. It was in the 19th minute when the Colonels broke the ice with a Cameron Miller (Nicholasville, Ky.) goal off assists by Robbe Tarver (Houston, Texas) and Andy Karel (Louisville, Ky.). Just before halftime, Centre added another when Josh Lyons (Danville, Ky.) assisted on a Josh Settle (Bowling Green, Ky.) goal.
"Both goals were well put together," said Centre head coach Jeb Burch. "And I was happy to see the boys show some resiliency after a disappointing loss yesterday."
Centre took 14 shots to Wooster's nine in the game, including a 10-2 edge in the first half. Ohan Missirian-Dill (Brentwood, Tenn.) was Centre's goalkeeper for the game and made one save while Wooster's Matthew Canter had four stops for Wooster.
"It was good to see a shutout," Burch added. "Ohan played well in goal today, and I thought George Laventis played well in front of our back line."
Centre improves to 4-2 on the year while Wooster drops to 1-5 with the loss. After splitting a pair of games on this weekend's road trip, the Colonels return home for a matchup with Anderson on Friday.
