Centre men's soccer ends season with 1-0 loss to Trinity on Senior Day
The Centre men's soccer team lost 1-0 to #1 Trinity on Sunday, November 7 in Danville, Ky. on senior day for the Colonels. Centre fell to 11-6-2 overall and to 6-3-2 in the SCAC. Seniors Alex Murphy (Madison, Ind.) and Brad Fansher (Chicago, Ill.) were recognized before the game started.
Trinity's offense had the advantage in the first half of play as they had seven shots and three corner kicks compared to the Colonels three shots and one corner kick. Yuri Ribeiro put the Tiger's ahead 1-0 in the 34th minute when he was able to get the ball past sophomore Zach Sosnovich (Woodbridge, NJ).
During the second half Centre's offense took some pressure off of the defense, as they had seven shots, but they were unable to tie the game up. The Centre defense held Trinity to four shots. The Tigers had the 4-1 advantage on corner kicks, as they held onto their 1-0 lead until the end of the match.
Sosnovich finished the game recording three saves in 90 minutes of action.
Centre finished the season in fourth place in the SCAC, while Trinity won the conference.
