Five Colonels qualify for Kentucky State Amateur Tournament

Five members of the Centre men's golf team have qualified for the Kentucky State Amateur Tournament after playing qualifying rounds in both Danville and Louisville.

The lowest score among the Centre qualifiers was posted by senior Kenyon Cook (Lexington, Ky.), who shot a round of 70. Sophomore John Minton (Bowling Green, Ky.) posted a score of 73. Senior Patrick Davidson (Louisville, Ky.) and 2012 graduate Grant Hinton (Elizabethtown, Ky.) each posted scores of 75.

Sophomore Grant Blevins (Danville, Ky.) qualified for the Kentucky State Amateur Tournament by shooting a round of 74. Blevins also qualified for the Southern Amateur Tournament in another preliminary event by posting a score of 71.

The Kentucky State Amateur Tournament will take place on June 19-21 at the Cardinal Club in Shelbyville, Ky. The Southern Amateur Tournament will take place on July 18-21 at Chenal C.C. in Little Rock, Ark.
