Just days after Centre's Greg Ross was recognized regionally by D3Hoops.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches, Ross was again honored by the organizations as an All-American.
Ross, a senior forward from Cincinnati, Ohio, was selected to the NABC's Division III All-America Third Team by member coaches of the organization and named as a D3Hoops.com Fourth Team All-American. The recognition for Ross follows a season in which he finished second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in scoring with 16.5 points per game and led the league in rebounding with 8.0 per game. He also finished sixth in the SCAC in field goal percentage 52.1 percent and first in free throw percentage at 86.7 percent.
Ross was the leading scorer and rebounder on a Centre team that finished 18-9 overall and advanced to the championship game of the conference tournament for the seventh consecutive year. Following the season, Ross was named First Team All-SCAC for the second year in a row and honored as the league's Player of the Year.
The latest honors come a year after Ross was named SCAC Tournament MVP and NABC Second Team All-South District. Ross joins Kevin Lavin (1987), Danny Johnson (1989), David Hicks (1991), Reggie Magnusson (2006) and Thomas Britt (2008) as Colonel players who have received All-American status in the last 25 years.
